Retro rides again with the new Honda VT750S
Honda UK have launched the retro styled VT750S into the UK market.
Powering the new VT750S is a liquid-cooled, V-twin of 745cc with Honda’s latest PGM-FI fuel-injection system but in keeping with the classic styling, the V-twin features finned barrels for that ‘air-cooled’ look.
The frame uses a strong, steel double cradle design, steering geometry has been specifically chosen to give excellent feedback and neutral handling, aided by a 19-inch front and 16-inch/150mm rear wheel. It has 41mm forks and twin shocks, which are adjustable for pre-load, adding to the classic look. A large 296mm front brake disc is aided by a 180mm drum at the rear.
The upright riding position, chrome finished headlight, twin exhausts, wire-spoked wheels and teardrop tank all hint to a bygone age of motorcycling.

Honda launch new PCX Scooter
Last week Honda announced the arrival of a new scooter in their range the Honda PCX. This is a 125cc twist and go scooter.
If features a dark, tinted screen, a dual-headlight, high-tech instrument panel with speedometer, fuel gauge and an indicator for the engine’s innovative Idle Stop Switch.
Underneath the rider and pillion seat is a lockable storage space which is large enough for a full-face helmet and more. In addition there is a glove box and an optional 26-litre top box on the rear carrier. It has a responsive chassis, 14-inch wheels and Combined Brake System,
The PCX has a 125cc liquid-cooled four-stroke, single-cylinder engine which has an innovative ‘built-in’ radiator, to keep the engine compact, cool and light.
Honda’s PGM-FI fuel-injection system promises excellent tank range and low emissions, with the PCX delivering up to 130mpg. Helping the frugal fuel-injection return such impressive MPG figures are the Idle Stop Switch and Brushless ACG Starter. The brushless ACG was debuted on the trendy Honda Zoomer and works as both a starter motor at ignition and a generator while on the move, making the engine lighter. Meanwhile, when the Idle Stop Switch is enabled, the engine stops running after three seconds of idling, but it re-starts when the throttle is twisted open again – this helps improve fuel efficiency by up to another 5%.

BMW Motorrad C1-E prototype
BMW Motorrad is to show off its one-off C1-E prototype at the Sheffield BikeSafe Show on the 12-13 June.
C1-E has a high-spec electric motor and lithium-ion battery and the roll-over bars and windscreen – which create a ‘safety cell’ around the rider.
The rider is further protected by a seatbelt – as seen on the original C1 – a feature which meant the C1 was the only powered two-wheeler exempt from the mandatory helmet requirement in most European countries. Another new innovation for the motorcycle world is an impact-absorbing zone in the nose of the C1-E. While this version has an electric motor and battery pack, the vehicle could also be equipped with an efficient, low-emissions internal combustion engine.
There are currently no plans to put the BMW C1-E into production.
